Professor Matthew Jose is a Renal Physician & Head of the Renal Unit at the Royal Hobart Hospital, and Professor of Medicine for the University of Tasmania.

Winner of the 2021 Rural Science Award from the Australia and New Zealand Society of Nephrology, he has worked in regional, rural and remote Australian locations for nearly 20 years as a Renal Physician, including the Northern Territory.

In an innovative move towards enhancing mental health services, Associate Professor Amanda Neil and team, supported by the RHH Research Foundation, are undertaking a crucial study on language-literacy skills of patients within mental health care settings. This year-long project, which commenced in April 2024, seeks to unravel to what extent, where and for whom language-literacy skills are being considered in Tasmanian mental health service provision.

Dr Ira Deveson is a mid-career researcher and Snow Fellow. He has expertise in clinical genomics, biotechnology development and bioinformatics, with his lab focusing on applications of long-read sequencing in clinical genomics. His work spans from computational methods development and software/hardware engineering, to large-scale genomic analysis of diverse cohorts in health and disease.
